Jepps Lane

Barton

Status: Refused

Application Type: Outline planning application

Proposal

We are disappointed that Preston City Council has decided not to support our planning application for 125 new homes on land off Jepps Lane, Barton. Our high-quality scheme would have complemented the character of the area and would also have made a significant contribution towards Preston City Council’s housing requirement, boosting the supply of new homes. In addition, the proposed development would have had a positive impact on the local economy by providing local contractors with opportunities to tender for work, with knock on benefits for local supply chains and other local businesses and services. Going forward Story Homes will consider its options in respect of development proposals for this site. You can view our proposals at www.storyhomes.co.uk. Full details of the applications can be viewed at Preston City Council using ref: 06/2020/1002.

Benefits

  • The site will provide a range of family homes that will help to meet local housing needs, including the provision of new affordable homes within the development.
  • Our proposals will deliver energy efficient homes and will include measures to help reduce reliance on private vehicles.
  • Our proposals will result in an increase in local spend and support existing businesses in the area. They will help create additional employment through new opportunities for local sub-contractors and the supply chain.
