Our planning application to build 67 high quality new homes on land to the west of St Andrew’s View in Thursby has unfortunately been refused by Allerdale Borough Councils’ Development Panel.

We consider our proposals to be of high quality, meeting all planning policy requirements and bringing about benefits to new residents as well as the local community and economy. Going forward Story Homes will consider its options in respect of development proposals for this site.

Benefits

Our proposals will provide up to 20% affordable housing that will be allocated for people with a local connection to the area. The affordable homes are anticipated to provide two and three-bedroom properties.
Our proposals will include the creation of new open space for the benefit of local people and new residents alike.
The site will provide a range of family homes that will help meet local housing needs, including the provision of new affordable homes.
Our proposals will support existing local businesses and help create additional employment through new opportunities for local sub contractors and the supply chain.
